"Fundamentals and Application of Raman Spectroscopy for the Study of Materials"

November 23, Olga Maslova, PhD, Physics School of Federal University of Minas Gerais (Brazil) gave an open lecture on "Fundamentals and Application of Raman Spectroscopy for the Study of Materials". The lecture was  organised within the framework of the contest "Science in Siberia" supported by the TSU D.I.Mendeleev Foundation. Olga familiarised students with  the history of Raman effect and helped them get better understanding of its main research methods and materials.
Olga also shared her international research experience with students. While studying at South Federal University in Rostov-na-Donu she got an opportunity to move to France and continue her research there. She successfully defended her PhD and entered Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil as a postdoctoral fellow. Olga told the students about European requirements for thesis writing and defense and highly recommended to study languages and search for academic exchanges and grants all over the world.
